A friend saw the Events and Adventures ad and he thought that I would be a good person to join that because California was brand-new to me and I was looking for friends. I looked into it and I joined it. I was very excited in my first event because it was a brand-new experience and I hoped that I would meet a lot of new people. I like exploring different parts of the city, Bay Area in general, with the group. It's always better to go someplace with other people. If you have a group, you can just literally go and explore anything, and the experience is amazing.

I am one of the most active members. I am literally everywhere. There are cases in which people don't even know Alex & Alexa, our hosts, even the managers, but they would know me. I like the Tahoe trip. It was pretty amazing. I enjoyed that a lot. I also like the one in San Francisco where we had beach bonfire. That was one of the best-- the timing was perfect, the sunset was good, the location, the people, everything was awesome. And usually, for events like this, people from Santa Clara travel to come so there were more people which was much better. Another is the bubble soccer which was amazing. It was a new concept and I loved it. In Fremont, we have a place called Saddle Rack and I loved it. The people usually love the mechanical bull but for me, the line dancing was the best one since I lived in Texas before moving to California. The Halloween was top of my list also.

Events and Adventures takes a trip to Japan, and one of the things they do is they ride the Super Mario carts in Tokyo. I've always wanted to do that, so that was what hooked me. Before I arrived to my first event I was very excited. I've had a lot fun at the events that I have attended. They have a murder mystery night, which I liked. That was a lot of fun. They had a charity poker night, too, and I won big for the charity, so that was exciting to win and be able to do some good with it. I've also participated in two of the new member meetings, as well as have done volleyball out at one of the areas out in Lakewood.

With my work schedule, however, it is a little difficult now to participate as much as I want to. Events and Adventures has a lot of younger people in it, those in their 20s and 30s. So, that has been a little difficult as I am in my late 50s. There is quite an age gap there. It is very nice to chat with someone with a very young and idealistic energy, but it peters out.

Now that we have gotten into the colder months, there has been less things to do that are enjoyable for anybody of any age as there was in summer. The comedy club is a lot of fun, but during the week, I have work until 8 o'clock and have to be there by It is a little difficult for me to be attending events right now. I'm looking forward to being able to attend more events. And once my schedule changes again, I will be able to do more things in the summertime. If they go back to Japan, I'm planning to do that this year. I'm also going to try and do at least one other trips, depending on what happens with my employment.

I'm 50 and all my friends are married or they have significant others. I'm single and I wanted to meet some other people that were single. I was listening to an audiobook and the author mentioned Events and Adventures. I looked into it and then I had my interview. I thought it was something that I would really like. I've been on some outings and I've been on some online stuff. I've had a great time each time.

I went to the New Year's Eve party in Davie and I went to brunch in Boca. Those were a lot of fun. We did a live concert and we went to the South Florida fair. My very first outing was my favorite. I had a lot of fun and the people that I met there are awesome. I don't really like the Zoom events that much. They were not really organized enough. But the last one we had was a lot of fun. We did a murder mystery. But Events and Adventures needs to work on teaching the hosts a little bit more of the computer. One other thing is a lot of events are in South, South Florida. There are not so many close to the West Palm Beach area, which I'm from. For people like me who work every day of the week, it's hard to drive an hour to do something on a weeknight.

I like this club because it's not a group of people trying to hit on each other or pick up each other. You meet people that are like you and that you wouldn't even realize. I met a handful of females the first time and they all range in age but we had so much in common. You meet other people that like to do stuff that you like to do. It's a group of friends doing stuff together. If that's what you're looking for, this is the group that you would want to join.

I became recently single and I wanted to meet people by doing something instead of going to a bar, so I joined Events and Adventures. The person who interviewed me and told me how it works said that the events would be fun and that if I was not feeling comfortable, I could reach out to my host. Unfortunately, the host was probably the shyest person at the first event I went to. It was not a great first impression as far as how it was run. This was a dinner in Capitol Hill, Seattle. When I arrived, everybody at the table was silently looking at me. I had to say, "Is this Events and Adventures?" "Yeah." And we just sat there awkwardly. Being a hairdresser and having a big personality, I started asking icebreaker questions.

I talked to the event manager in my area and gave her feedback on the host that I had at my first event. He's a very sweet guy but he doesn't have the personality to be a host to make people feel welcomed. Hosting is hard. With all my feedback I was asked about being a host and I declined. I'm a business owner and I'm a mother of two. I had four hosts so far and the three women were all fantastic. That poor guy that was so shy said he didn't want to be a host, but they asked him. We went on a hike and I actually got to talk to him more.

On my sixth event, I met this wonderful man and we've been dating. We're like a poster couple for Events and Adventures. It was his first event when we met. We started dating on his third event and my sixth event. We have a two-year membership. We're going to go to a karaoke event the week between Christmas and New Year's. We went to one event last month and we're going to one event this month. He's got a couple of single friends that were wondering about Events and Adventures and I suggested to have each of them be our date so they can see what it's like.

I like that there's variety with Events and Adventures and that the activities are all over the state. That's really accessible and cool and I was excited about that. The one comment I have that is common with people that have signed up with this program is the event calendar comes out on the 15th of the month and if you sign up after the 15th, you're really blocked out of your first month. You can't get to a lot of events that you want to because the calendar has been out for over two weeks. That's the one disappointing thing and leaves a bad impression. You're waiting to go to your first event for a couple of weeks so it would be good to curb that expectation like, "Hey, you're going to be locked out." Maybe they can have the membership start on a different day too.

I moved up to the Bay Area almost four years ago and through different things and situations, I've found myself without friends here doing stuff. I figured it would be best to make memories with people that are in the same boat as I am. So, I looked Events and Adventures up, gave them a call, had the interview, and I found that what they have to offer is what I needed at the time.

The day that I had my interview was the same day I was at my first event. It was three hours later. The person I interviewed with, Teresa, was amazing to get me on with that event. She just signed me up for it right away, and it was kickball. When I got there, I was excited because I loved their process of doing background checks on people. I went there with my wall down, so I was excited. I met a lot of new people in my first event and it hasn't stopped since. I went the next night to another event. I'm going to a lot of events every month. I like the activities where we're active. We go to archery. We play pool and kickball. I do like some of the dining events that we have.

We went to this place called the Emporium in San Francisco about two and a half months ago. Being that we're still in the middle of a pandemic, I found that the place was not wiping down the gaming machines and half the games were broken. They weren't even functioning. So, I asked Events and Adventures, “Do you guys ever research your places before scheduling them?” They said, “Yeah, but it was done before the pandemic,” which is not healthy. I'm hoping that my feedback and my questions has started them to double-check locations if they were prior to the pandemic. I was really not comfortable where we were.

Other than that, most events have been okay. I just find that they are doing the same events every month. There's a lot of repeat events as opposed to new and fresh idea events. I found that because of and everything shutting down, a lot of the international travel is rolled over. So, anyone who had signed up had already rolled over into this year. Then some of the activities that they have hasn't been my cup of tea as far as I can't go whitewater rafting. I have limitations physically. So, if they did a Vegas trip where there was nothing but good food and shows and gambling, I'm down with it. I appreciate that they have more outdoor activities included in the packages that they have. But I'm still looking every time that there is something new for travel that I could do. I would definitely sign up because one of the biggest selling points for me was the travel.

At first, you're worried, frightened and nervous. Then you get out, start talking with people and you get used to it. It's a little different being exposed in a group of people and never being exposed. Some people are used to having all their business out in the open and the people are great. But it's a different style, which I'm getting used to. Usually, I date somebody and then, it's over and you never meet them again. Events and Adventures is teaching you a different approach to dating as well as far as not being enemies or friends. You stay a friend but it's different. I've not done it this way ever but it's been fun and amazing, and I've had nothing but great experiences since then. Other than that, I'm growing and learning.

When there are events that are going on way over in Littleton and it's full, I would volunteer one or two days a week to do it near my part of town. When they're doing whirly ball on a Wednesday and it's packed, and that's a minute drive for me, I wish I would have had a volleyball game on this side of town, where there may be more people. So far, I've had one massive event at my house and that was not through the Events and Adventures. It was after I've gotten to know these people and I invited them over. I would recommend making it more accessible to more groups and exploring it through others. Halfway through the month, I want to do something and there are no openings. And even on the openings, people don't call.

I did E&A in Minneapolis as well as here in Denver and in Minneapolis, even though there was no room, they made room. Because of all the new people coming in and all the other scenarios popping up as far as full house, it should be more accessible to everybody. I would ask to be asked. They could say they’ve got three events today and they're all full, but maybe they can throw another one in there and I can do it a Tuesday. It's almost like asking somebody to be a host on a certain day a week, even just one or two. I've heard some of the perks of it but I haven't been offered it or asked it. Some days, I would like to be doing things and it's packed.

It was post-quarantine COVID-ish last year around August. I had been thinking about it for a while, and then I was recently single too from the summer, so I was trying to get back out there and meet new people. But a lot of our places were still closed. I heard that there was a lot more virtual things happening, so I wanted to check out the virtual events, and then also some of the in-person events, check out new hotspots in the area that I might not have heard of, and then not have to go alone because I would be there meeting up with a group. I initially signed up for a learn-more-about-it kind of session, and then it turned into the interview. And I was like, "All right, let's give it a shot." It's good.

However, I was talking to my event coordinator and looking at maybe freezing my account for a bit because I haven't been able to use Events and Adventures for the past month. A lot of things have been open and I've been so busy with my own little crew that has resurfaced since COVID. We've been swamped with our own events and I'm trying to save money. Some of the really cool events I want to go to are already an extra fee on top of my membership. Or the ones that I do want to go to, by the time I can finally check it out or get my brain wrapped around it, it's already full and I would be on the waiting list. In the beginning, it wasn't that bad because they gave us extra leeway for being new. They helped bump us up. But with me not being so new, being on the waitlist doesn't necessarily mean you always get in now.

I was trying to see what it would look like to cancel it, and then that's when my event coordinator told me about doing the freeze. It was part of my plan that I could freeze it for free for a bit. Because I know some programs, they make you pay a smaller amount. So, if it's free to freeze it, that's better. Other than that, I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with it. The people have been amazing.

I enjoy the dinners. One that stood out to me was one where I could bring something back. I love the ceramics and painting classes because you get something out of it. Not only are you networking, mingling and meeting, but then you also get something as a remembrance. I like the arts and craftsy kind of stuff. The Love is Blind virtual stuff was really fun. It's neat, like a blind and a speed dating kind of thing. No one has their video on and your name is some made-up name for the theme of the month, and then you just get put in the room with someone and you start talking for 10 minutes, and then they cycle you out. And then, you reveal yourself at the end after you've done three rounds with different people. And it's not just an Arizona thing, it's open to all the sites.

And then, the ones I wanted to try just hasn't worked out with my schedule. I wanted to go on some of those bigger trips because I am a big trip person. Some of the local weekend getaways or even going abroad are some of the ones that interested me too in the beginning to join. I like to organize trips and travel, and it's hard to get your own crew together, but because you can't get a crew doesn't mean you can't go. It's nice to know that there's someone already organizing it.

I was so nervous before arriving to my first event. I was like, “What if I get there and nobody wants to talk to me?” When I got there, everyone was so nice. I've made so many friendships through the event so I'm happy that I went. I also like the karaoke night events, bowling, and the more chill events. Some of the events are really expensive and I was doing those in the beginning. I realized they were expensive so I ended up going to the casual meet-up ones. So far, the New Year's Eve event has been my favorite. Everyone came and we were all dressed up. The venue was really nice and I was impressed with it. The food was really good too. It was worth the money.

I've gone to a few events at E&A and I met some nice people. I went to a Japanese cultural garden thing for my first event, which was really neat. From there, we went to a street vendor art museum type thing that was going on, and a lot of stuff that I would have just never known was going on 'cause I don't really follow that kind of stuff. E&A gets you out socializing, doing things that you would otherwise definitely not go do. In that aspect, it is good.

They are doing an awesome thing. It's just, I go there and I expect a certain type of people. But you got people in their 60s right down to their 30s. I'm 39, so it's not like everybody's older than me. But I've only gone to three things, so far and I don't think that I've gone enough to really have a good assessment of everything. Also, if it was an app, it would be much easier to navigate. 'Cause when you get on it, it's a website and it's not user-friendly on a phone. I've been there many times to look at the calendar, and every time I have to figure out how I got there last time. If I use a computer, it'd probably be different, but I never use a computer. I run my whole business with a phone.

My first event was a little awkward ‘cause I joined really early on in the club and it was a hike. But when more people started joining and going to different kinds, it got a lot better. I like the outdoor ones and the more activity-based ones rather than the food-oriented activities.

In the past decade, all sorts of weird, ultra-niche dating apps have sprung up in the wake of popular sites like Match and eHarmony. FarmersOnly connects lonely agrarian countryfolk. UglyShmucks matches people who are “beautiful on the inside.” GlutenFreeSingles is a thing that actually exists. Then of course there’s Tinder, the dating app (or one-night-stand app, depending on who you ask) used by every twentysomething you know, which has apparently processed 8 billion mutual swipe-rights since its release. Now, a dating app called LuvByrd promises to bring together those who share a love for adventure and all things related to the great outdoors.

Developed and already in use in Colorado, LuvByrd is now available nationwide. It works similar to other dating apps in that you make a profile, add photos and specify the age range and gender you’re looking for, but with this app you also fill out a quick survey on your favorite outdoor activities. Using this data, LuvByrd generates a list of nearby singles who enjoy the same activities you do. If you spot someone you like, hit the “<3” button to express your interest. If you spot someone who enjoys, say, paddleboarding, and you hate paddleboarding, hit the “X” button to hide their profile. If you match, you or the other person can begin an in-app conversation whenever you feel the time is right — a degree of flexibility unavailable in other apps like Bumble or Hinge, which limit how long you can wait before sending the first message, as well as, in Bumble’s case, who’s allowed to send the first message.

The premise of LuvByrd is especially attractive if you live in an urban area where your day-to-day interactions are likely to be with people who prefer cocktail bars and museums to lakes and mountains. Start swiping today and you might find a hiking partner to hit the trails with this weekend.

Creating a LuvBryd account is free, but add-on features, like being able to see who’s viewed your profile or unlimited messaging, run anywhere from $3/month to $10/month.

Tinder for Thrill-Seekers: Introducing LuvByrd, the First Dating App for Adventurers

Two years ago, Mike Keshian, a self-described ski bum living in Crested Butte, was looking for new ways to meet women. “Most ski towns are, like, eight guys to one girl, so it is pretty tough for guys to meet women,” the year-old told Men’s Journal.

At the time, Keshian was using OkCupid, Tinder, and Plenty of Fish, but found the dating apps never really worked for him. He saw an ad for www.chevaliercompetences.fr, which targets the agriculture community, and wondered why there wasn't an app for ski bums like himself. With the help of a few friends, Keshian created LuvByrd, a dating app for outdoor enthusiasts.

“It is a lot different than meeting someone on a typical dating site,” Keshian says. “On my typical online dates we’d meet at a restaurant or bar and connect that way. But most people on first dates on LuvByrd would like to go hiking or skiing together.”

The app, previously only available in Colorado, is now expanding to cities like New York, Chicago, and L.A., where Keshian says it can be harder to meet outdoor enthusiasts. Users can search out possible dates based on their favorite activities, mountains to ski, and level of ability.

“The dating industry is all about some kind of common interest,” Keshian says. “For someone who is an outdoor enthusiast, that is probably their number one interest, and it’s the easiest way for people to connect. Like, ‘Oh you’ve got the epic pass, let’s go ski Breck. I’ll meet you there.’ ”

The basic LuvByrd app is currently free to use, with a premium version that includes features like unlimited messages, and the ability to see who has liked you. The company plans to launch a feature where users will be notified if someone they have been messaging with is in the area, for example, at the same ski resort.

A walking advertisement for his product, Keshian actually met his girlfriend, Kelly, through the app. Shortly after they connected, they bought some plane tickets and headed to the Redwood National Park.

“We drove to the coast, and we woke up in the morning for sunrise, and there was water on both sides of us and it was amazing,” Keshian says. “We continued through the Redwoods, and we parked the car, and just kind of wandered around together. She was so into it, and for me, someone who can rough it a little bit more than most girls, was definitely a selling point.”

What To Expect From Events And Adventures

Founded by Mark Owens over 30 years ago, Events And Adventures emphasizes the “adventure” part of their name.

While they do host lower-key events like wine tastings and a “Monday Mingle,” many of their gatherings are more physically active &#; like jet skiing, glass blowing, and cave spelunking.

They also offer plenty of online members-only events, from comedy shows to trivia nights and cooking demos.

Pre-pandemic, the company also brought Events And Adventures groups on outings like ski excursions, cruises, sailing trips, and tours of Europe.

Depending on your city, you’ll have the opportunity to attend events each month. Each event is limited to people, or in many cases only 10 to accommodate for social distancing measures.

Here is a sampling of what you’ll find on their monthly calendar:

    Events And Adventures Locations

This dating service has “Singles Clubs” in 12 cities across the nation. Locations include: Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Ft Lauderdale/Miami, Houston, Minneapolis, Nashville, Phoenix, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, adventure dating site, and Vancouver.

If you don't live near any of those cities, you can still sign up and participate in all the virtual events.

How Much Does Events And Adventures Cost?

The price varies depending on which Singles Club you join, and any “last minute” deals they may be running.

So the Free dating near worcester ma cost might be different than the Denver cost. But generally you can expect to spend between $ and $ a month for an Events And Adventures membership depending on your contract length.

Keep in mind the membership fee doesn’t cover the cost of most activities. You’ll have to shell out an additional $40 to $, sometimes more, for each outing you attend.

    Who Can Sign Up?

Membership is not open to everyone. You have to be at least 21 years old, and you have to be single. If you’re in the process of getting divorced, you can join as long as you’ve actually filed. (And you’ll need the papers to prove it).

But age and relationship status aren’t the only criteria for getting in. You still have to pass the interview process since this local singles club is invite only.

Prospective clients can call directly or fill out a simple online form to initiate adventure dating site phone call. Then you’ll sit down for a virtual face-to-face interview to see if you pass muster.

If you’re accepted, you can expect to sign a contract. You'll either pre-pay in full or commit to monthly payments for a 1 tottaly free dating sites 2-year membership.

    Events And Adventures Cancellation Policy

According to the fine print, you have the right to terminate your membership within 24 hours for a full refund, adventure dating site.

Or you can cancel within 3 days of signing up for a refund minus a $ processing charge. But that only applies if you *haven't* attended an event yet. No refunds or guarantees are offered apart from that.

Here is the “cancelling your membership” portion of an Events And Adventures policy, courtesy of a Yelp reviewer who joined the Denver Singles Club:

Events and Adventure Reviews &#; Real Customer Experience

As with any national franchise, customer experience varies depending on location. But overall, the company has an almoststar rating with Consumer Affairs.

Reviewers like these two praised the fun activities and enjoyed meeting new people:

Common complaints included the events adventure dating site up too fast and the online ones being a bit disorganized:

The Events And Adventures headquarters near Seattle, Washington, has an overall ‘A-’ rating with the BBB.

That's despite having a whopping 72 complaints filed against various locations in the last 3 years.

Some of the reviewers complained singles at the events were older than they were looking to date. A few also noted the 3-day cancellation policy didn't give adequate time to experience the membership before deciding to keep it:

Other Events & Adventures members felt subjected to high-pressure sales tactics during the initial presentation:

Events & Adventures has a star rating on Yelp, based on + reviews.

For those who praised their Events And Adventures experience, meeting new friends and having fun adventure dating site the events seemed to be a common theme, adventure dating site. For instance, this Yelp reviewer in San Francisco wrote:

However, for those unsatisfied with their Events And Adventures membership, high pressure and/or deceptive sales tactics and poor turnout to singles events was frequently mentioned in reviews like this one:

Of course, you probably already take online reviews with a grain of salt.

But when the same complaints pop up across multiple review sites, that old adage about ‘where there’s smoke, there’s fire’ could apply. Proceed with caution to avoid getting burned, especially when the company has been successfully sued.

Events and Adventures Class Action Lawsuit

A class action lawsuit filed in Orange County Superior Court was granted final approval, after the courts found the company illegally recorded interviews with prospective members.

The lawsuit was settled in favor of the Class Members. Each member of the lawsuit received just under $3,

The Easiest Way To Meet Local Singles

If the membership price is in your budget, and you don’t mind paying for individual events on top of it, Events And Adventures could be a good way to meet new people while having some fun.

But if you don’t live near one of their 11 locations, or you’re leery of paying up front for a 1 or 2-year membership, before you’ve even had the chance to check out a single event, you may want to try your luck with a free social networking service like Meetup first.

And if you’re interested in Events And Adventures because you’re not having any luck with online dating, have you considered outsourcing it to a company like VIDA Select?

The dating app that&#;s connecting outdoor enthusiasts

    Climbing-Couple-WEB
Dating app LuvByrdis now connecting outdoor lovers nationwide. The technology has been building followers in Denver, where it is based, but launches a national presence this week. “Finally, outdoor enthusiasts across the country can start connecting and enjoying the outdoors with someone who enjoys the same activities as they do,” LuvByrd CEO and founder Mike Keshian, (who is actually one of the app’s first legit success stories) told GrindTV.

“I met my girlfriend on the site during our beta launch in , and we’ve been dating and exploring places like Indonesia, California’s redwoods, all over Colorado and beyond ever since.”

    LB-surf-WEB
Like most dating apps, LuvByrd is designed to make a match, only this online connection tries to pair you with someone with the same interests in the outdoors.

There are 40 summer activities, ranging from hiking to volleyball, and 17 winter activities, including the popular skiing/snowboarding to the tongue-in-cheek but no less attractive, “snowball fights.”

Keshian says LuvByrd can work for a wide variety of seekers: “Someone who is single, loves the outdoors and hasn’t had luck on other dating sites.” Currently more males are seeking an adventurous Susan, with a majority of users falling in the to year-old range.

Eliot L, 29, from Colorado, says he recently found a girlfriend using LuvByrd. “We connected, then went for a hike and hit it off,” he says. “I found someone that loves going on adventures and now we have a great relationship.”

    LB-camp-WEB
Beyond hooking up with others interested in the outdoors, users can create events (privately or publicly), as well as attend events with other singles hosted by LuvByrd.

This summer the app’s staff created fly-fishing and rafting trips in Colorado. Last winter a chairlift speed-dating event at Loveland Ski Area quickly got the app some serious likes. “As we grow we’ll also be adding local events in the larger cities and content on our website, like the best outdoor date spots,” Keshian says.

LuvByrd’s entry level membership is free. The app lets you post a profile and gives you the ability to see all members — “like” (More from GrindTV

I went to a trip to Iceland for eight days with Events and Adventures. It was an amazing trip. It was tough and last minute. I had just joined a week and a half before it happened, but I was able to make it work and I'm glad I did. I made a good girlfriend and a couple of other friends.
